“Änglagårdsland” offers lots of activities and things to enjoy.

Årås Manor lies between Lakes Jogen and Vållern in the eastern part of the district of  Ulricehamn. The manor dates back to the 15th century and was owned by the noble Gyllenstierna family for just over 200 years.  After various changes of ownership the property fell into disrepair, and the former park became overgrown. In 1983 the community association bought the dilapidated mill and carried out an extensive renovation.  Nowadays the estate boasts a hostel, shop/flea market and summer café. Step by step the old manor house buildings and estate are being restored to their former glory.  Do come and follow the progress of the renovations.

There are both cycle and walking trails nearby. If you feel like a longer bike tour we recommend the Ängaleden, around 54 km long, with rest areas along the route. The lovely countryside around here inspired the director Colin Nutley to make his popular Änglagård films. There are also good fishing possibilities. Your own picnic can be eaten in the barbecue huts or on the lawns surrounding the manor. There’s parking for both cars and coaches. Dogs on leads are welcome.
