Award winning manor house garden

Jonsered Gardens is a lavishly recreated 19th century manor house garden next to Jonsered Manor. The garden was opened in 2014 and the year after was chosen as Park of the Year in the historical garden recreation category. These organic gardens, which continuously aim to increase diversity, are made up of four areas, which are the Formal Garden, the Kitchen Garden, the English Rose Garden, and the Show Garden with the Ruins. Guided tours can be booked.

The show garden has been designed by the British garden writer Susie White. Susie planned a Classic English Garden which was laid out in 2017 in partnership with Trädgårdsresan and the British National Garden Scheme Yellow Book. This garden is Trädgårdsresan’s pride and joy! Jonsered Gardens head gardener Peter Svenson was helping Trädgårdsresan to export a West Swedish garden to northeast England. The garden is part of an international cultural exchange. 

There are beehives in the gardens and local beekeepers sell their honey at various events during the year in collaboration with the Bee Fund. Summer theatre, garden shows and plant sales all take place here and there is a new café, and public toilets. Dogs on leads are welcome. Parking for cars and coaches is free and travelling to and from Gothenburg is easy by train. Accessibility for wheelchairs and prams is good both in the gardens and the café.
