A lush paradise

At the southern end of the Hultåsen nature reserve, with its pine and birch woods, and smooth rocky outcrops dotted with heather, lies a little paradise. A half acre private garden which Camilla Danielsson has created over 20 years, inspired by her understanding of colour, shape and aroma. The garden has six different rooms. The entrance is embellished with showy perennials in pink and red, and a sunny rose and herb bed in blue, grey and burgundy. Further on you’ll find a green oasis under standard rhododendrons, a ‘hot’ border by the ancient granite bedrock, a woodland area with white flowering bushes and perennials, and finally a glade between the garden and the nature surrounding it.

The creation of the garden resulted in the book “Känn trädgården” which is about finding your own idea for a garden and using it as a compass when you design your own plot.

The garden is open on the last Sunday of every month, from January to November. The generous opening times - for a private garden - can be explained by owner Camilla’s motto: “This garden is a source of happiness and beauty all year round.” Current opening times can be found on Känn Garden’s website. There’s a little nursery and home decor shop on site, and if the weather allows, fika and other refreshments are available. Funds from the sales of the Trädgårdsresan book and poster go directly to the Bee Fund.

Dogs on leads are welcome and there are places to eat your own picnic. No toilet. Bus stop: Trollängen, 250 m. There’s room for a few cars to park by the fence. Coaches can park 100 metres from the garden. The terrain is uneven with some narrow paths and steps in unhewn stone.
