Food on the table, income from crops and a sensory experience – those were the principles that guided Rudolf Abelin when he created his life’s work
The word magnificent best describes Norrviken Gardens. The place is known for its magnolias, hydrangeas and formal gardens. You can enjoy the English, Japanese, romantic, renaissance, water, baroque and concept gardens. Many trees and plants are enormous and each year a different theme to ornament the park is chosen. The lovely buildings grace the grounds, providing an exquisite complement to the greenery. Just over 100 000 people visit the park every year. Winter at Norrviken closes the season, taking advantage of the darkness by lighting up the whole park.
There’s lots to discover here for both adults and children. Among other things there are animals like koi carp, hens, peacocks and the busy bees in the bee garden. For the playful among us there’s Hasse’s fun garden. The pride of Skåne, Hasse Andersson, has designed a play & learn garden for the park. Exhibitions take place around the park and in Villa Abelin. The shop is filled with antiques from Laserow and our own design products. The Orangery houses the restaurant, serving food made with local produce There’s lots of room to enjoy your own picnic in the park. Guided tours and garden tours in Swedish, English and German can be booked. Dogs on leads are welcome. There is ample parking for cars and coaches in the grounds. Toilets are available.
