Kryddträdgården
Sit and enjoy a moment in this charming herb garden
Beauteous greenery
In the centre of the Old Town, amidst cobbled streets and historic 19th century wooden houses, you’ll find the Kryddträdgården herb garden. Assorted herbs and medicinal plants, berry bushes, roses and fruit trees grow here, among other things. The large mulberry tree bears fruit and other plants you can enjoy include quince, kiwi, grape vines, raspberry, hazelnut and ginkgo. Find a seat and pause awhile in this delightful little idyll.
The herb garden is open around the clock. Dogs on leads are welcome. There’s room here to eat your own picnic. Parking is available at the town’s Hamngatan and Vallarna (Läroverksgatan) car parks. There’s a public toilet at Vallarna and in the Rian design museum. Please note there are cobbled streets in Falkenberg’s Old Town which can reduce accessibility for rollators/wheelchairs. Hindströmsgården
Welcome to a garden tucked behind Storgatan’s most charming building
The hidden courtyard garden open to everyone
Next to the Rian design museum lies Hindströmsgården, a restored courtyard garden. Fruit trees flourish here, alongside a perennial border and small vegetable plot with heritage plants. The courtyard garden is a hidden gem, perfect for picnics. You can bring your own food or buy something tasty from the cafe in the Rian museum. Guided garden visits are offered on certain specific dates. Educational activities sometimes take place in the garden.
The Hindströmgården is open 1/7–31/7, Tuesday-Sunday 11.00–16.00 and 1/8–27/8, Tuesday-Sunday 12.00–16.00.

Laurentiiparken – Rose Garden
Feel the wingbeats of history, enjoy the fragrant roses and drink in the picturesque surroundings
Roses aren’t just red
The Rose Garden is next to St Laurentii church in Falkenberg’s Old Town.
In the grassed area there’s a cobblestone frieze depicting the town’s original centre – Gåsatorget. You’ll find lovely rose arbours here and around 60 varieties of beautifully scented roses, including heritage old roses like Lövhult and Skedarosen. Growing around the arbours are Rosenholm, Valdemar, Nordland, Veilchenblau, Ilse Krohn Superior and Wrams Gunnarstorp roses, among others.

Falkenberg’s Hembygdsmuseum Garden
Welcome to a historic garden in a peaceful setting
Pause awhile in the bower
The garden can be found in the inner courtyard of the Hembygdsmuseum heritage centre in the Old Town. It’s a historic garden, with pretty bowers, fruit trees and perennials. There are benches and a lawn to sit down on if you want to rest your legs for a bit. When the magnolia is in flower it’s extra lovely here.
The garden is open June to August, Tuesday – Sunday, 12.00-16.00. Closed over Midsummer weekend. Dogs on leads are welcome. There are plenty of spots to eat your own picnic. Badhusparken
If you want to enjoy a wonderful combination of greenery and art then you’ve come to the right place!
Falkenberg’s crown jewel and the perfect park for picnics
Badhusparken is Falkenberg’s flagship park, with lots of art and playful sculptures, an abundant variety of both trees and bushes, and annual flower borders. There are several different magnolias in the park including Japanese big-leaved magnolia and the yellow flowered magnolia tree ‘Ingemar’. During warm early summers the foxglove tree blooms in blue. There are many unusual tree species here, like wedding cake tree, Indian bean tree, Amur cork tree, dyer’s indigo, tulip tree and dawn redwood. Have a seat on the cafe furniture and enjoy your own picnic under a parasol or on a blanket on the grass. This is the perfect park for picnics. The park is named after the historic public bath house situated there.

Sinnenas trädgård
Find your way around the maze, accompanied by a butterfly or one of the other pollinators thriving here
Breathe in – breathe out
Sinnenas is a mindful garden, created for healing and to increase biodiversity. You can enjoy the beautiful view of the River Ätran as it rushes down towards the sea. There’s a magical hornbeam maze in the park and a Chinese parasol tree with seating underneath. You’ll also find species like tulip tree and bladder-senna. In spring the snake’s head fritillary and other bulbs fill the borders. Many of the plants are good for pollinators, such as the buddleias. This is the park for anyone wanting to pause for a moment’s contemplation.

Vallarna
It’s easy to spend a whole day here. Vallarna has something for everyone.
Play, be filled with wonder, and enjoy yourselves – the possibilities are (almost) endless!
The Vallarna recreation area, including Falkenbergs stadspark, is a sizeable 270 000 square metres. In the grounds there are, among other things, a mini zoo, a popular open air theatre and a large inviting playground. The rhododendron and azalea plantations adorn the Doktorspromenaden trail which winds beside the river Ätran. The nature area is at its most beautiful during spring, when all the bulbs are flowering. The western side of the park contains a formal garden with large beds of summer flowers next to the historic Tullbron stone bridge.
