Come and visit Laholm’s masterpiece, our lovely Stadspark. Let yourself be inspired, there’s always something fascinating to see here
Wild is beautiful!
The late landscape designer and artist Peter Gaunitz successfully transformed this former railway embankment into a dazzling space. His motto was Wild is beautiful and the results of his creative zest can clearly be seen in the park. You can go on a journey of discovery via the bridges along the jungle stream, stroll around the savannah area, or in the woodland. Everyone’s needs are catered for here. There’s a playground for children and for our pollinators both a spring meadow and a butterfly meadow. In spring countless bulbs appear and in summer you’ll find azaleas, rhododendron and all kinds of flowers. During autumn the tree grove takes centre stage in all its glory. With the natural development of native and new exotic varieties, coming mostly from North America, the town park is attractive all year round. The park was awarded and crowned Park of the Year 2013.
The park is open around the clock, all year round. There are plenty of spots to enjoy your own picnic. Some BBQ areas are also available to use in the park. Guiding is offered in Swedish and Dutch (pre-book by telephone +46 (0)430 15421). There is parking for both cars and coaches. Dogs on leads are welcome. Large parts of the park are accessible for visitors using rollators/wheelchairs.
