It’s good to be here

In 2015 a 650 m² large area was planted with perennials, with, amongst others, a gigantic collection of garden phlox. Around 70 flower varieties are in bloom from the end of July to late autumn, and the scent is fantastic. 17 500 daffodils and 2 500 scilla also clamour for your attention. When you look around you’ll notice that Strandparken is made up of vestiges of old villa gardens, something that paved quays, garden plants and fruit trees witness to. In the park there are 3 beehives, and sculptures and fountains to admire. If you want to rest your legs there are sunchairs to relax on during summer. Boules enthusiasts will enjoy the court to play on. Reeds that float up into the park are collected and made into compost. A summer flower meadow is sown on the compost every year, to the delight of the local bees.

Dogs on leads are welcome in the park, and there’s plenty of room to enjoy your own picnic. Strandparken is a public, communal park open to all, all the time. Information about guided tours and plant lists is available on Kungälv council’s website.
