A walk round the Little Castle Garden will make your visit to Läckö Castle complete.

The garden, laid in different levels, is enclosed by high white stone walls. It feels like a tranquil oasis when you’re inside. Skilled gardeners, under the direction of Simon Irvine, have spent over 25 years digging, planting, composting, tending and cultivating. Nothing is left to chance and they work assiduously to restore the kitchen garden to its former glory. Grown organically, everything edible is harvested and immediately taken across to the kitchens to be used. It can’t get any more locally produced! This review is of the Hvita Hjorten restaurant is from the 2014 White Guide: “… Simon Irvine holds the key to the restaurant’s success. He doesn’t pick the vegetables too early and he is passionate about the different growing stages of lettuce.

There’s both a cafe and restaurant in the centre. Everything from operas to children’s activities, and exhibitions of all kinds are held at Läckö Castle. Guided tours of the castle can be arranged in Swedish, English and German. There are public toilets. Plenty of parking for both cars and coaches. There are lots of spots to enjoy your own picnic around the castle. Bikes can be hired. Entry to the garden is included in the price of entry to the castle, or you can pay separately, 50 SEK pp.
