The city of Borås’ pride and joy  

Annelunds Park covers an area of 91 400 square metres and more than half of that is wild parkland.  In early summer the azalea and rhododendron flower beside the walking trails winding through the beautiful surroundings. Pine, oak and beech are the dominant tree species with an understory of hazel, elderflower and buckthorn. You can also enjoy roses, magnolia and other ornamental shrubs, to name just a few examples.  

The park’s jewel in the crown is the peony terrace with around 80 species, which can be found at the foot of the Annelundsvilla, on the middle terrace. The Annelundsvilla is a classic ’funkishus’, a minimalist, functional design built in the 1930s which has room for larger groups and serves an excellent lunch. There are lots of lovely places to sit for anyone who has brought their own picnic. The peonies start flowering in the middle of May and reach their peak around midsummer. This is a magnificent place to enjoy their floral splendour. The plants are marked with the names of their respective varieties.  A large number of scented peonies, hybrids and wild varieties are also represented here. 

On the lower terrace there’s an orchard with several fruit trees and berry bushes including family trees, standards, edible hedges and cordoned trees, where you can study the real craftsmanship used to build the shape of each tree according to the different pruning techniques.

There are also allotments, a boules court and a large playground amongst all the greenery. 
Guided tours of the gardens can be booked by arrangement. There is a public toilet. Good parking for both cars and coaches. The park is open all year round and entry is free. Dogs on leads are welcome.
