Classic farmhouse garden meets woodland garden and in the barn there’s a farm shop with a tempting range

The farm, dating back to the 19th century, is situated by the sea on the island of Lilla Askerön. Large parts of the garden are still in the classic farmhouse style, with large open grassy areas, orchards of established fruit trees and old fashioned perennials. An enclosed kitchen garden with orangery and raised beds are currently being constructed. It’s the perfect place to stroll around and pause to admire the vegetables, magnificent flower beds and buzzing bees. The farm’s Hedemora hens wander freely in the garden and contribute with both manure and eggs.

A fantastic dramatic cliff face dominates the whole western edge of the garden.  At the bottom of the rocks beautiful large oaks grow, alongside wild ferns. This area is being transformed into an enchanting forest garden with lovely layers, drama and woodland plants as well as conifers, hydrangeas, rhodedendron and magnolias.

In the old barn there’s a charming farm shop with a carefully chosen range of items for both home and garden. You can also buy Swedish grown perennials, bushes and small trees. In the garden cafe, open during the summer, you can enjoy something to eat with a view of the sparkling waters of the Askerö fjord. There’s also room in the garden for anyone who prefers to bring their own packed lunch.

The number of visitors is limited to 60 at a time. Please book your visit by telephone or on the website. Guided tours are offered in Swedish, English and German. Dogs on leads are welcome. There is parking for cars on the adjacent road.
