Come and enjoy all the parks and gardens in Skövde

Boulognerskogen is the town’s largest park, with walking trails, beautiful spots to sit and relax, and open spaces. You can wander through beech woods as well as lofty pine forests. In summer you can even have a dip in the park lake. It’s buzzing with activity and traditional seasonal celebrations.

Kyrkparken is another verdant oasis in central Skövde. Many of the park’s trees are over one hundred years old and in summertime you can enjoy the cooling effect of the fountain that children like to splash in.

Helénsparken is a cultural heritage site where the oldest building is from the early 1700s. There are lots of activities happening here all the time, and the park has among other things a stage for different kinds of events.

Garpaparken, which used to be the town’s old rubbish tip, is now one of its biggest green areas. There’s a popular duck pond here.

Rododendrondalen (Rhododendron Valley) was created in the early 1900s, and is a beautiful blend of park like gardens and the wild natural landscapes of the slopes of Billingen plateau mountain. Enjoy the view looking down on the town and take some food to eat in the lovely barbecue area.

You’ll find Ryds organic urban farm in Södra Ryd. A popular meeting place with a large area of raised beds.

All parks are open every day all year round. There are public toilets in many places. Dogs are welcome apart from in play areas.
